Partner Payments, Stripe, and Custom Domains
How money flows through your white-label storefront — before and after linking Stripe — plus the full custom-domain setup.
This guide covers the operational half of the white-label program: how your customers' payments turn into your earnings, how linking your own Stripe account changes the flow, and how to put your storefront on your own domain. You can launch — and earn — before touching any of it: a new partner storefront works on day one with no Stripe account and no DNS changes.
How the money flows before you link Stripe
Until you connect a Stripe account, your storefront runs in platform-settled mode. Your customers check out normally at the prices you set; the charge is processed on our Stripe account, and their credits arrive instantly. Your share of each sale accrues to a payout balance you can watch in the portal:
- Your share per sale = your retail price − your wholesale cost − the card-processing fee on that charge. Example at a $300 sale with $200 wholesale: you accrue roughly $91 after a ~$9 processing fee.
- Payouts are manual in this mode: our team settles your balance by bank transfer, recorded against your account. Each sale's earnings become payable 30 days after the sale — the settling window that covers the card-refund exposure — and the portal shows both numbers: total owed and available now.
- Refunds reverse the customer's credits and that sale's share from your balance automatically.
- One limitation: subscriptions are unavailable to your customers in this mode — the purchase sheet only offers one-time credit packs. Plans unlock the moment you link Stripe (below), because recurring billing belongs on your own account, not ours.
Linking your Stripe account
Linking flips your storefront to direct settlement: charges land in your Stripe account and your margin arrives with each sale — no waiting on manual payouts.
- Create a Stripe account at stripe.com if you don't have one, and complete Stripe's business activation (payouts enabled).
- In White Label Admin → Overview, find the Stripe card and click Link your Stripe account.
- You're sent to Stripe's connection page — sign in to your Stripe account and approve the connection. This uses Stripe's standard OAuth flow: we never see your Stripe credentials, and you can disconnect at any time.
- You land back in the portal with the connection confirmed. That's it — there is no step 4. New checkouts switch over automatically.
What changes once you're linked
- Charges run on your Stripe account. Your customers' card statements show your descriptor, and the funds (minus Stripe's own processing fee, which you now pay directly) follow your Stripe payout schedule to your bank.
- Our wholesale cut is collected automatically as an application fee on each charge — no invoices between us, nothing to reconcile. What lands in your account is already your net margin.
- Subscriptions unlock for your customers at the plan prices you set, including yearly plans. The recurring fee split runs on every renewal automatically.
- Refunds are issued from your Stripe dashboard. The platform claws back the customer's credits and returns our fee share automatically when it sees the refund.
- Any balance you accrued in platform-settled mode stays payable and is settled normally — the two modes' earnings show side by side in the portal.
Disconnecting reverts your storefront to platform-settled mode (one-time purchases only). If any of your customers hold live subscriptions, disconnecting is blocked until those wind down — it would strand their billing.
Custom domains
Your subdomain works forever, but most partners move to their own domain — say data.yourbrand.com. The whole flow is: request it in the portal, add one DNS record, and we activate it. Our team is notified automatically when you submit the request — there's no support ticket to open.
- Pick a subdomain of a domain you own —
data.yourbrand.comorapp.yourbrand.com. Don't use your bare domain if a website already lives there; the platform would replace it. - Request it in the portal: White Label Admin → Overview → Your site card → enter the domain and click Request domain. You can change or withdraw the request any time before it goes live.
- Add one DNS record wherever your domain's DNS is managed:
- Type
CNAME, Name/Host = the subdomain label (e.g.data), Value =cname.vercel-dns.com, TTL automatic. - On Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud) — the proxy blocks certificate issuance.
- Type
- Wait for activation. DNS usually propagates in minutes (occasionally a few hours). The SSL certificate is issued automatically — nothing to buy or install. Our team completes the platform-side attachment and flips your domain live; the badge in the portal switches from Pending verification to Verified.
Your .acquired-data.com subdomain keeps working throughout and after the switch, so nothing breaks for customers who already signed up. Once live, the domain is locked in the portal — contact support to change or remove it, since either would take your site down for customers.
The monthly platform fee
Separate from the per-sale split, your partner deal includes a flat monthly platform fee (set — or waived — at approval). It bills automatically against the card you keep on file at Dashboard → Billing; the portal's fee card shows the amount and status. Keep a card on file: the same card powers comp-credit grants from the Customers tab.
